August 2016: Ready!

We began the church year under the theme ‘Stay Focused, Get Involved in the Mission to Reach Others for Christ!’ During our recent Holy Convocation, we explored the need for believers to be ‘Walking Faithfully in the End-time’. We now conclude this final month with the reminder that in spite of today’s challenges, believers should be ‘Ready’ for the eminent return of Jesus.

We cannot over-emphasize the need for believers to prepare and keep their hearts in readiness to meet Jesus when He comes in the clouds or when He calls us home. Hence, as saints, we should walk carefully, purposefully and consistently. It may take much effort, and sometimes situations may be quite challenging, but thankfully, after our labor and toil in the earth is completed, it is consoling to know that ‘It will be worth it all when we see Jesus’.

Jesus comforted His Disciples: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. – John 14:1-3. We have this lively hope that in that glorious reunion, when all the saints who died and those alive are caught up in the clouds to meet Jesus, He will take us to that place He is preparing for His bride (his church) – glory hallelujah!

Therefore, in these end-times, we should be fully prepared: ‘Ready to Go’ when He calls; ‘Ready to Worship’ in spirit and truth; ‘Ready to War’ against the evil forces of darkness; and ‘Ready to Work’ to build the Kingdom of God. Saints, while waiting, let us live today as if it is the last day we have on earth.
